Zinc is an essential trace element. According to the NIH1, "zinc supplementation may be used to increase immunity against viruses or may interfere with the replication of certain viruses, such as the human papillomavirus (HPV)."

5 drops of HI-Z provides the equivalent of 11.42 mg of Chelated Zinc citrate.

- Antibiotics. Oral zinc while taking quinolone or tetracycline antibiotics can interfere with their ability to fight bacteria. Taking the antibiotic two hours before or four to six hours after taking HI-Z can minimize this effect.
- Penicillamine. Oral zinc with the rheumatoid arthritis drug penicillamine (Cuprimine, Depen) can reduce the drug's ability to ease arthritis symptoms. Taking HI-Z at least two hours before or after taking the drug might minimize this effect.
- Thiazide diuretics. These blood pressure drugs increase the amount of zinc lost in urine.

3rd Rock Sunblock® for infants Sunscreen Lotion SPF 35 natural sunscreen is formulated exclusively from food-grade ingredients only. Consequently, it prevents skin damage caused by BOTH the sun and the toxic compounds.
Like any traditional natural sunscreen lotion, 3rd Rock Sunblock® SPF 35 natural organic zinc oxide sunscreen offers unsurpassed UVA protection and provides pro-active skin benefits better than synthetic-based sunscreens. It does so by preventing DNA damage that causes cell mutation by blocking UVA (across almost the entire UVA spectrum) and UVB rays, rather than only blocking UVB (for which SPF is the sole indicator) and minimal UVA wavelengths like many standard sunscreens. Research studies have shown that cancer cells develop in acidic environments. Due to these studies and the need for providing a long term (3+ years) sun-stable product, 3rd Rock Essentials formulated 3rd Rock Sunblock® Sunscreen Lotion has an alkaline (NOT ACIDIC) pH.
